Dr.
Professor Quddusi B. Kazmi began her career as Research Assistant after
BSc. at the Zoology Department,
Karachi University .After working for 41
years, she retired from the same institution as the Director, Marine Reference
Collection & Resource Centre and Professor of Zoology, Department of
Zoology, University of Karachi.
After gaining
some valuable technical experience as Research Assistant, side by side she
pursued her master in Marine Zoology with
second position in the class on a thesis on the taxonomy of marine
shrimps of Pakistan with the renounced scientist late Prof. Dr. N.M. Tirmizi.selected

Expansion Program 2006-2008.Have Extensive experience on faunistic studies of marine and
freshwater invertebrates. have been
activity engaged in research for the last 41 years,particularly in the areas of
marine and,terrestrial freshwater shrimps crabs, (Specialisms),copepods, and
isopods (both free living and parasitic ). Marine Biodiversity , its conservation
, anthropogenic changes of macrobenthic ecology in coastal waters, and invasive species are areas of
interest.
Managed
to support her research from abroad by the ONR, USA in addition to local
grants. As director /curator she did her best for Research Management and
Institutional Development. The job was
on teaching to postgraduate students as
Professor of Zoology;running research projects, conducting research and writing
scientific reports and research papers.
Overall in-charge of the centre to run administrative, academic and research affairs. During a visit to Singapore National University, on a joint study programme, she developed and signed MoU with University of Singapore for exchange of scientists.
